This case study follows a class in Taiwan as they experiment with using the internet to support their language learning. It brings to light how much the learners bring to the experience and if their are learners who are not particularly motivated, the teacher must step in as a guiding and encouraging leader. This is an eye opening article to read before beginning to integrate social media into a language class.

This blog post is the result of a Twitter chat. Professionals in the field of world languages shared their project ideas. Most of their ideas involve social media sites, for example: " I also have used ePals.com to share and create stories with other countries. Students create comic strips, manga, poems, short stories and videos to share with epals in French-speaking countries. Students post stories, read and comment in them. Here we have examples of real communication, spontaneous and FUN!" These are all wonderful projects that have been successful in a French classroom and can be adjusted to fit an American Sign Language class.
